Eligibility
- Projects/initiatives MUST be completed between November 2024 and 1 October 2025.
- Applicants/nominees MUST be based in or serving the following countries: Angola, Botswana, Comoros, DRC, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Jacqueline Lawrence Mwakyambiki is an accomplished entrepreneur and Director of Mbeya Highlands FM Radio, a leading media company in Tanzania. Born and raised in Mbeya, Tanzania, Jacqueline developed an early passion for business and entrepreneurship. After completing her studies in International Business and Finance, she gained experience in various fields such as project formulation and planning, economic trend forecasting, and international marketing.
With her diverse skill set and entrepreneurial spirit, Jacqueline’s holds a leading role in Mbeya Highlands FM Radio, a media company dedicated to bridging communication gaps between different sections of society and informing people through critical analysis of public policies, social and cultural issues. She ensures that her company serves the purpose of its editorial policies and upholds the roles of media as a mirror of society to inform the people.
Jacqueline’s passion and dedication to her work have not gone unnoticed. She has been recognized as a Captain of the Industry by TAYPA in 2015, a Young African Leader MWF Alumni of the US STATE Program, and a Laureate Global Fellow Alumni of the International Youth Foundation Program. In 2021, her company was awarded Best Communication Company by TWCC.
Beyond her work in media and broadcast management, Jacqueline is committed to making a positive impact on society. She has volunteered for various community development initiatives, including organizing mentorship programs for young entrepreneurs and supporting education and healthcare initiatives in her community.
Jacqueline’s leadership, vision, and dedication to her work have made her a respected figure in Tanzania’s business community. Her passion for entrepreneurship and commitment to making a positive impact on society serve as an inspiration to many young people in Tanzania and beyond.

Marcolene Roach, originally from Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape, embodies the mantra “knowledge is power,” a principle she has upheld throughout her life by continuously equipping herself with knowledge and skills.
Currently, Marcolene serves as the Station Manager at Poort FM, a community radio station in Eersterust, Pretoria. She also sits on the Board of the South African Community Radio Organisation (SACRO) and has been an adjudicator for the prestigious Telkom Radio Awards for the past four years.
With a proven track record as a Brand and Marketing Strategist, Marcolene has been instrumental in building both personal and professional brands. Her extensive experience in PR and marketing has given her deep insights into what drives successful campaigns and impactful launches.
Marcolene’s career journey includes roles at top corporate companies, and she is an esteemed alumnus of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Her career has also afforded her international training and work opportunities. Today, she co-owns a thriving Event Management Company (TFM Events), a Media Training Institute called the Media Wave Institute and an Aviation Company (Speedy
Aviation).
Marcolene’s qualifications are as impressive as her experience. She holds certifications as a Certified Master Office Professional (CMOP), Advanced Radio Certificate (Wits Radio Academy), Radio Station Management National Certificate and is a qualified Facilitator, Assessor, Moderator and Skills Development Facilitator (SDF). Her academic credentials include qualifications in Project Management,
Strategic Branding, PR and Marketing, Communication Science, Management Development, and Information and Knowledge Management.

Dr Noxolo Kubheka-Dlamini, Founder and Managing Director of Zowiumi Holdings is an experienced professional in ICT, Financial Services, Infrastructure and Logistics with specialisation in ICT Strategy & Planning, Architecture, Data & Analytics, Operations Technology, Telecoms as well as Information and Cyber Security field.
She uses the platform provided by Zowiumi Holdings to empower the next generation of innovative thinkers and entrepreneurs, particularly those who may be socioeconomically disadvantaged from marginalised, underprivileged and poor society with limited exposure enabling them to become the best version of themselves. She is a firm believer that greatness is possible through hard work ethic, dedication and passion.

Menen Agegnehu is an award-winning sales professional with over 16 years of experience in the technology industry. In 2015, she achieved $400M+ in sales while working with Ericsson, the world’s largest mobile vendor at the time, and she continues to drive repeat business and growth at SES Video.
With a keen understanding of customer needs and emerging technology trends, Menen consistently exceeds expectations and delivers exceptional service. Her strength lies in building strong, trust-based relationships and providing tailored solutions that foster long-term success.
She holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA, and her academic contributions include a published research paper in the International Journal of Process Management – New Technologies.
In 2024, Menen and her team secured a major video market in Ethiopia, reaching approximately 17 million TV households—a landmark achievement for the region. She now sets her sights on expanding her impact across Eastern Africa, continuing to open new markets and deliver value to partners.
Recognized for her dynamic leadership, strategic insight, and technical expertise, Menen has received multiple achievement awards from her current satellite company, highlighting her outstanding performance and contributions to the industry.
